The museum is situated in a most beautiful valley called Franschhoek (‘French Corner’), bearing many of its original French place names, and half of all visitors to the museum are French speaking. The monument is situated next to the museum and symbolises the Huguenot origin. The museum displays cover the story that originated in France. The museum has a list of all the Huguenots that came, how they survived and how they contributed to the new country. The Annexe refers to the Khoisan that traded with the Huguenots and the development of the town. The museum also has a Tea Room and Curio Shop.
