TGCSA 4-Star Hotel Fouriesburg Country Inn circa 1892, located in the popular small eastern Free State town of Fouriesburg. Owned by Bloukruin Tourism Pty Ltd part of the Bloukruin Landgoed Group, director Gilly Scheepers and his wife Renè invested in the property and also in the staff, some staff has been with the property for nearly 30 years. Mr. Gilly Scheepers born and bred farmer of Fouriesburg decided to invest not only in the business but also in his own history, as Gilly says the hotel brings back fond childhood memories, playing on the verandah on a Sunday after the church service across the street, while the adults had a cup of tea etc. Renè and the staff are slowly upgrading the 31 rooms, and also the culinary experience. Renè is putting her personal touches into each room and food refreshing the guest’s total experience. The General Manager and his team will host you. In 2015 upgrades started with the 70 seater restaurant and Voesie Maarman house an annex on the property, which now boasts 2 extra luxury rooms, bringing the total of luxury rooms to 6. The balance of the rooms slowly all receiving soft refurbs, a fresh coat of paint, new bedding, curtains, small fridges and artwork. All rooms offer outside seating on the verandah overlooking the manicured gardens. In 2016 the front view of the property undergone major revamp, as the feel to sit on the verandah and looking at slow traffic like only a country town can offer, was the main purpose of the revamp. Renè is slowly replacing all the prints with real artwork, by doing this she supports local artists. Renè and the staff started an organic vegetable garden in 2016, and now fresh vegetables in season get harvested on a daily basis. Mr Gilly Scheepers in 2015 bought the property from Clive & Martie Craig, who retired after a successful 20 +/- years reign of this lovely property.
